Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Quality Production Specialist to support the 787 Material Review Board Designee (MRBD) Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift.

In this role, you will review and validate product non-conformance, perform analysis to evaluate product quality, and conduct failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components. Additionally, you will train and mentor fellow employees, perform root cause analysis, develop corrective/preventive actions, and Project Manage quality initiatives to support 787 production improvements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance for reviews and validates product non-conformance and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements

  • Oversees the analysis and evaluation of the quality of products, operations and processes. Guides the review of production plans.

  • Applies advanced knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.

  • Guides or provides assistance in the root cause analysis of non-conformance. Verifies the accuracy of analysis results by consulting with other authorities in the technical field.

  • Establishes process and product improvements by implementing technical initiatives.

  • Oversees the process of problem resolution to ensure effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

  • Provides oversight of the corrective/preventive action plans to assure timely completion.

  • Reviews and oversees approval of Quality planning changes or disposition of non-conformance hardware products/processes.

  • Provides direction for validation of corrective action to assure causes of non-conformance has been eliminated.

  • Monitors the groups' performance of the verification activity.

  • Creates formal analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal /external distribution.

  • Project Manages quality initiatives to support 787 production improvements

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required you to analyze and summarize raw data from various sources, and recommend executable action plans

  • 3+ years of experience in Excel (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, linking worksheets)

  • 3+ years of experience working with Velocity

  • 3+ years Production Experience

  • Able to access confined spaces and lift over 20lbs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • Experience working with CMES

  • Experience with managing quality improvement projects

  • Experience in working defect reduction strategies within a cross-functional environment

  • Boeing 787 Program Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working on MRB (Materials Review Board) activities related to aircraft structures

  • 3+ years of experience writing tags with at least 70% first pass quality over the last year

  • Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $89,250 - $120,750.
