Introduction

This California Privacy Policy supplements the information contained in the Privacy Policy of US Job Services, LLC d/b/a JOBSwithDOD (“JOBSwithDOD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”) and other California privacy laws. Any terms defined in the CCPA/CPRA have the same meaning when used in this notice.

This policy describes how JOBSwithDOD collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our website https://jobswithdod.com, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). Our Services connect job seekers with Department of Defense civilian employers and defense companies, providing a unified marketplace for defense career opportunities.

Information We Collect and Categories of Sources

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device (“personal information”). Personal information does not include:

  • Publicly available information from government records.
  • De-identified or aggregated consumer information.
  • Information excluded from the CCPA’s scope, such as health or medical information covered by HIPAA and certain personal information covered by sector-specific privacy laws.

Use of Personal Information

We may use, or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:

  • To provide, support, and develop our Services, including:
    • Creating and maintaining your account
    • Processing and fulfilling your job search activities
    • Connecting job seekers with employers in the defense industry
    • Providing employers with candidate profiles and application information
    • Customizing job recommendations based on your profile and preferences
  • To communicate with you about:
    • Service updates and changes
    • Responses to your inquiries and requests
    • Job alerts and recommendations
    • Marketing communications (with your consent)
  • To maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our Services, including:
    • Detecting and preventing fraud, unauthorized access, and other harmful activities
    • Debugging to identify and repair errors
    • Internal research and development
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and conditions
  • To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets

We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information

  • To verify eligibility for certain defense industry positions that require specific qualifications (such as security clearance verification)

Disclosure of Personal Information

JOBSwithDOD may disclose your personal information to a third party for business purposes. When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter a contract that describes the purpose and requires the recipient to both keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information for a business purpose:

  • Protected classification characteristics (with your consent)

  • Internet or other similar network activity
  • Professional or employment-related information
  • Non-public education information

We disclose your personal information for a business purpose to the following categories of third parties:

  • Our affiliates and subsidiaries
  • Defense industry employers and recruiters who use our Services
  • Service providers who perform services on our behalf, including:
    • Cloud and data storage providers
    • Payment processors
    • Analytics providers
    • Email and communication service providers
    • Customer support providers
  • Third parties to whom you authorize us to disclose your personal information in connection with products or services we provide to you
  • Government entities when required by law

Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

California law requires that we disclose whether we “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. Right to Know and Data Portability

You have the right to request that JOBSwithDOD disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months, including:

  • The categories of personal information we collected about you.
  • The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing that personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
  • If we sold or shared your personal information, the categories of personal information sold or shared and the categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or shared, by category of personal information for each third party to whom the personal information was sold or shared.

Right to Delete

You have the right to request that JOBSwithDOD delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to:

  • Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
  • Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
  • Debug products to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
  • Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercise another right provided for by law.
  • Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act.
  • Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the information’s deletion may likely render impossible or seriously impair the research’s achievement,
