The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Engineering Project Management to be the interface between key stakeholders and the Battlespace & Simulation Management (BSM) agile software engineering organization in Hazelwood, MO.

This role will support a multiple proprietary program as well as other platforms across the BSM portfolio within the Boeing Global Services (BGS) organization. You will be responsible for managing the entire product life cycle. Your role includes project management, earned value management (EVM), performance monitoring, business analysis and scrum master and product owner roles. You will be collaborating with software engineering teams and the programs to maintain a common vision and deliver winning products.

The BSM team is a large software development team comprised of several smaller agile teams, some with specialized skills. Our backlog includes everything from new feature development using cutting-edge technology to maintenance of legacy software baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment within a two-week "sprint" schedule. BSM is responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of training devices for a wide variety of commercial and military aircraft - everything from F-15 fighter jets to Apache attack helicopters, and even NASA's Starliner spacecraft. Software engineers on our team are responsible for all phases of the software lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation and test. They are also directly involved in planning their own work, as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, business, and integration leadership to software engineering projects

  • Support proposal development and lead engineering execution by identifying activities, resources, and tasks required to complete the work statement

  • Maintain Earned Value Management Metrics and manage project performance to plan

  • Partner with the Product Owner or other Technical Leads to support product backlog definition, refinement, and prioritization to feed sprint cycles

  • Participate in and lead Community of Proactive (CoP) meetings and drive process improvements across the organization

  • Coordinate and lead Agile ceremonies, track team metrics, create tickets, and prepare and present status reports to stakeholders

  • Investigate, analyze, and recommend opportunities that drive quality and process improvements

  • Manage product release schedules and release activities

  • Assure the development team’s products effectively address program priorities while maintaining technical integrity and cost and schedule targets

  • Advocate, recommend, and champion process improvements and corrective actions to address lessons learned

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree 

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • 5+ years of experience in project management

  • 3+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • 3+ years of experience acting in Agile leadership roles of Project Manager, Scrum Master and/or Release Train Engineer

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent experience

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified SAFe Scrum Master

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering and/or engineering project management

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 4) - $136,850 - $185,150

Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
