Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Production Support / Scheduler to join our manufacturing operations team. This role is critical to ensure smooth daily production flow across machining, welding, sheet metal, and assembly operations. The ideal candidate will be an advanced user of Excel and Costpoint, with the ability to maintain accurate schedules, support both first and newly established third shift operations, and collaborate effectively with a wide range of shop personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain, update, and communicate production schedules for both 1st and 3rd shifts
    Analyze data, track work center workload, develop visual schedules, and support reporting needs
  • Work closely with machining, welding, sheet metal, and assembly teams to understand capacity, constraints, and priority work
  • Ensure transparency and clarity of schedule changes across shifts
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in scheduling and production
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Track manufacturing orders and monitor manufacturing progress
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems (Costpoint and Excel)
  • Communicate production status, shortages, and risks to management and the planning team
  • Help improve production processes and on-time delivery performance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing type work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data modeling, formulas, dashboards)
  • Strong working knowledge of Costpoint (work orders, planning, material management, reporting)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem‑solving and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail
    Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work well with diverse groups on the shop floor

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior experience in production control, scheduling, or operations support
  • Experience supporting multi‑shift operations
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong understanding of engineering bills of material
