SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer in Huntsville, AL at the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration (S3I) Directorate on Redstone Arsenal supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Ground Test (DTG) in Huntsville, AL.

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN networks and systems
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of network system and service configurations
  • Documenting and troubleshooting network and system issues
  • Creating and maintaining network diagrams and documentation
  • Assisting with the configuration, implementation, and utilization of network tools such as Cisco ISE, Instant Connect Enterprise, Wireshark and OpManager
  • Providing network monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting during Missile Defense Agency (MDA) test events
  • Providing communications (Secure VoIP, Secure Chat) support during MDA test events
  • Coordinating with MDA elements to gather and verify connectivity information required for MDA test events and create an Event Communications Baseline document for that test event
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 10%) to support various hardware upgrades at remote sites
  • Ability to work infrequent night shifts for up to 2 weeks at a time (with prior notice) to support MDA test events

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, with two (2) years of relevant experience. Additional six (6) years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be US Citizen with current/existing Secret clearance

Required Skills:

  • Must be able to meet DoD 8140 IAT Level II requirements within 8 weeks of hire
  • Must have CCNA or higher Cisco professional certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching design and configuration
  • Experience deploying or managing TACLANEs or other cryptographic equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio
  • Potential for travel (CONUS and OCONUS - Up to 10% per year and up to 14 days at a time) and ability to obtain a US Passport

Desired Skills:

  • Experience deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience with network management and monitoring toolsets such as Cisco ISE, Instant Connect Enterprise, Wireshark, and OpManager
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux workstation and server configuration and operation
