SAIC is searching for an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer to join our team at Point Mugu, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION

The RF Test Engineer should have proven experience in developing innovative solutions that will be used to meet warfighter needs to support the US Navy relating to Electronic Warfare (EW) capability development. Seeking a candidate with hands-on experience in on-orbit satellite Command and Control (C2) and a strong understanding of the underlying communication infrastructure.   

JOB DUTIES

  • Contribute to the development of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for Counter-C5ISRT (Command, Control, Computing, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting) operations
  • Develop and manage a dynamic database of categorized on-orbit assets to directly support mission readiness by creating and distributing time-sensitive Rapid Reaction Files (RRF)
  • Generate technical documentation: specifications, test reports, and verification document
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, mechanical, software, engineering, and external vendors)
  • Work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly 
  • Use verbal and written communication to collaborate on requirements development teams and to present data and explain results to management and customers 
  • Hypothesize and develop experiments to provide insight into cause-and-effect. Create and validate experimentation plans/procedures traced to requirements
  • Execute experimentation to characterize and assess effectiveness of subsystems in various laboratory and field environments, including military service-level events.
  • Assist with developing tools, such as Target Return Emulators, Software Defined Radios, and automation software to facilitate experimentation.
  • Apply Systems Engineering knowledge to develop requirements and conduct research and trade studies to validate requirements to support large naval Electronic Support acquisition programs
  • Conduct domestic or international travel to support requirements collaboration, experimentation, and customer meetings

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE

  • Bachelors and a minimum of five (5) years of experience; additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree  
  • Strong understanding of RF/microwave principles and system and subsystem-level analysis methodologies
  • Defining, refining, and analyzing requirements while supporting the systems engineering process
  • Programming with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills 
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen. 
  • Must have an active TS/SCI 

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of satellite payloads and subsystems
  • Knowledge of ground to satellite communication links 
  • Ability to work in a lab environment and participate in integration and test activities

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
