Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior(Level 4 or Level 5)Product Security Engineer - Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Cloud Architect to join our Cybersecurity Innovation team in Seattle, WA or Everett, WA. This position is responsible for ensuring security, safety, and resiliency of all digitally-connected, in-service BCA airplanes with the development and support of system developments, methods, and tools. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4 or Level 5) Product Security Engineers.

Primary responsibilities:

Level 3

  • Develops, implements, and sustains product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.
  • Develops and enhances system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.
  • Ensures security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support.
  • Defines and identifies product security requirements for suppliers of components and subsystems for integration into Boeing products and services.
  • Coordinates with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems.
  • Conducts research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions.
  • Advises customers on maintaining product security and certification, including security consequences of modifying products and services.

Level 4

  • Leads the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.
  • Leads the development and enhancement of system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.
  • Ensures security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support.
  • Leads the definition and identification of product security requirements for suppliers of components and subsystems for integration into complex Boeing products and services.
  • Leads coordination with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems.
  • Leads research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions.
  • Leads the advisement of customers on maintaining product security and certification, including security consequences of modifying products and services.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.
  • Leads the development and enhancement of system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.

Level 5

  • Oversees the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.
  • Oversees the development and enhancement of system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.
  • Ensures security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support.
  • Oversees the definition and identification of product security requirements for suppliers of components and subsystems for integration into the most complex Boeing products and services.
  • Consults with enterprise senior leadership on complex product security technical recommendations, solutions, risks, and opportunities as applied to the security domain with consideration of impact or leverage across other critical engineering disciplines.
  • Oversees coordination with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry at the most senior levels to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems.
  • Defines complex research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions.
  • Oversees the advisement of customers on maintaining product security and certification, including security consequences of modifying products and services.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ of experience in cloud security architecture and design, with a focus on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 5: 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in PKI operations in identification, report creation and custom scripts
  • Experience writing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
  • Experience in cyber security solutions architecture, with a focus on cloud technologies, DevSecOps, and secure system design
  • Experience do you have in vulnerability management, risk assessment, and/or security analytics
  • Experience working in a software Scaled Agile environment
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or DFARS NIST 800-171 Compliance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range:

  • Mid-Level (Level 3): $137,700 - $186,300
  • Senior (Level 4): $173,400 - $234,600
  • Senior (Level 5): $218,450 - $295,550
