We are looking for a talented Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of critical facility systems for the Starlink Bastrop production building. This position is directly responsible for ensuring our plant utilities and infrastructure operate at peak performance - minimizing downtime, optimizing efficiency, and supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of technicians and specialists in the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance, spare part control, and general troubleshooting of plant utilities including electrical systems, emergency backup power, HVAC (ARU, AHU, FCU, DOAS, fans), chilled water, heating hot water, process water, compressed air, scrubbers, city water, natural gas, and process waste streams
  • Drive organizational excellence through the creation of standardized KPI metrics and ensure accountability at all levels
  • Oversee the development and implementation of advanced maintenance methodologies to improve equipment uptime, efficiency, and cost control
  • Manage work ticketing system to ensure correct staff and timely responses to break/fix requests
  • Manage third-party service providers to ensure services meet SpaceX standards and terms of contract
  • Partner with construction team to develop, plan and execute site improvement projects
  • Own cranes and related material handling systems (initial ownership; potential future transition)
  • Support 24/7 facility operations including off-hours and emergency response protocols

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional experience with facilities operations or critical systems management in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of infrastructure systems - HVAC, hydronics, compressed air, electrical distribution, generators, fire suppression, and other critical facility systems

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong work ethic and drive for constant improvement
  • Ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment
  • Experience with CMMS and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Track record of implementing cost-saving or utility efficiency improvements

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations
  • Valid driver's license
