Role Description: Maintenance Support Technician

The Maintenance Support Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance, and supporting centralized shop systems to ensure the efficient operation of facility equipment and infrastructure. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation and Service: Operate, maintain, and perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks such as Coopermatic equipment, evaporator systems, wastewater system filters, and air compressors.
  • Equipment Repairs: Complete assigned work orders for basic equipment repairs using the Maintenance Work Order system.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist Machine Repairmen with projects and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Demonstrate understanding and adherence to GE EHS and Security requirements.
  • General Maintenance Support: Perform shop clean-up, maintenance, and other support functions as directed by the maintenance leader.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions; experience in mechanical service and basic repair tasks; understanding of facility and equipment technology.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform non-routine physical tasks safely, including lifting, elevated work, and manual labor. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal instruction.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain fork truck and aerial lift certification as well as LOTO certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of industrial maintenance or similar experience. Preferred to have experience with maintaining centralized industrial equipment.
  • Teamwork: This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to adapt to evolving facility and equipment technologies. Weekend work appreciated during shutdown events.
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
