BGS is searching for an Experienced C-17 Modification Project Technical Specialist to join the team in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represent the organization as a coordinator on contracts and projects.

  • Interact with senior personnel, both internal and external on significant matters requiring coordination between multiple USAF & FMS organizations.

  • Must understand and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, and concepts.

  • Provide direction and review for all maintenance activities upon completion, ensuring they meet the overall objectives.

  • Must participate in determining objectives of assignment; plans, schedules, and arrange your own activities to accomplish those objectives.

  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems referring to established precedents and policies and exert some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.

  • Must be able to pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals and maintain qualification/certification.

  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives typically have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience on C-17 aircraft.

  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft sustainment, repairs and modification.

  • 3+ years of experience creating and managing project plans, schedules, and baselines.

  • Travel both domestically and internationally 50% – with short notice and for extended periods, anywhere in the world and for potentially extended periods of time

  • On occasion, must be able to work overtime and/or weekends if necessary.

  • Ability to obtain US Passport.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in aviation-related fields, or in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.

  • Multi-system operations, maintenance and repair experience including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems.

  • Ability to read & interpret schematics and system flow charts.

  • Quality Management/Assurance experience.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: 89,250 - 120,750

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
