SAIC is looking for an Automation and Analytic Modeling Engineer with Space Domain Operations experience in Chantilly, VA to support a very dynamic and innovative space program office in Chantilly, VA.  The Automation and Modeling Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as a senior engineering professional responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing advanced analytic modeling, automation, and data processing solutions to accelerate the extraction of actionable insights from GEOINT and related intelligence data sources. This position combines expertise in data analytics, systems engineering, automation technologies, and intelligence workflows to enhance mission effectiveness, improve collection strategies, and reduce the time required to deliver meaningful intelligence to end users.

The successful candidate will demonstrate technical excellence, innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop unconventional approaches that advance program objectives and enable data-driven decision-making across complex operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Design, develop, and implement analytic models, algorithms, and automated workflows to extract insights from GEOINT and multi-source intelligence data.
•    Leverage advanced modeling, simulation, machine learning, statistical analysis, and visualization tools to identify patterns, trends, and mission-relevant intelligence.
•    Develop and optimize automated collection, exploitation, processing, and dissemination (PED) strategies to improve efficiency and accelerate intelligence delivery.
•    Collaborate with engineers, analysts, data scientists, mission partners, and government stakeholders to translate operational challenges into technical solutions.
•    Integrate emerging technologies, automation frameworks, and analytic capabilities into operational environments.
•    Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise regarding GEOINT data exploitation, automation technologies, and advanced analytics.
•    Identify innovative approaches and non-traditional solutions to solve challenging intelligence problems and accelerate mission outcomes.
•    Support system testing, validation, and performance assessment activities to ensure operational effectiveness and mission readiness.
•    Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, briefings, and recommendations for government leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Geospatial Science, or a related technical discipline.
•    9+ years of experience supporting intelligence, defense, national security, or GEOINT-related programs.
•    Demonstrated experience using analytic modeling tools and techniques to derive actionable insights from GEOINT, geospatial, imagery, or intelligence data.
•    Experience developing and implementing automated collection, processing, exploitation, and analytic workflows.
•    Strong understanding of GEOINT data sources, collection methodologies, and intelligence analysis processes.
•    Experience with scripting and automation technologies such as Python, R, MATLAB, Java, or similar languages.
•    Knowledge of data engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical analysis, and data visualization methodologies.
•    Ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and develop innovative, mission-focused solutions.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•    Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for required program access.
 

Desired Qualifications:
•    Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Geospatial Science, or related field.
•    Experience supporting National Security Space, GEOINT, ISR, or intelligence community programs. 
•    Experience integrating commercial and government analytic platforms into operational workflows.
