Summary

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain equipment such as laser cutters, press brakes, water jets, and roller machinery
  • Assemble basic flight hardware which includes torqueing fasteners
  • Read basic blueprints to ensure parts are made to engineering specifications to meet customer needs
  • Use basic inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and radius gauges to verify the conformance of hardware
  • Fabricate complex, tight tolerance parts, using various sheet metal materials that include several types of steel aluminum, Pyron, and zouk

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience working with machinery in a shop environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of machine operating experience
  • Experience operating all equipment in a high-volume sheet metal fabrication shop
  • High mechanical aptitude

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Comfortable with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, and using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) 30 minutes to 1 hour per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) between 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees 30 minutes or less per day
  • Candidate must be capable of safely using an air purifying respirator, operating heavy equipment and machinery, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description. Candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm these capabilities, which may include a medical history review.
