COMSEC ANALYST
Join SpaceX as a COMSEC Analyst and take ownership of key COMSEC disciplines that directly support the security of our launch vehicles, satellites, and ground systems. This role offers the opportunity to implement creative security solutions while ensuring national security requirements are met without slowing the pace of innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently manage COMSEC accounts, key issuance, and destruction procedures
  • Perform and oversee self-inspections, inventories, and compliance activities to company standards
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and configure End Crypto Units including the KG-175 suite, KGR-42, and KG-250 suite
  • Prepare COMSEC deliverables such as security plans and key management plans with limited oversight
  • Interface with customer counterparts at the security execution level and present to leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 3+ years of professional experience in COMSEC or a security field in lieu of a degree
  • 1+ years of experience in COMSEC or a security field

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience with CNSSI 4005 & 4001, NCSM Vol. 2, NSA/CSS Manual 3-16, and related COMSEC policies and procedures
  • 1+ year of experience with systems including International Association of Privacy Professionals (iApp), Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), CARDS, CORE, and Distributed INFOSEC Account System (DIAS)
  • Experience preparing security deliverables and identifying creative solutions that protect national security
  • Strong ability to work across departments and interface effectively with customer counterparts
  • Experience presenting to leadership and determining work priorities independently

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work in a classified environment
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
  • This position requires successfully obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment. While the clearance may not be immediately necessary upon hire, we encourage you to initiate the application process promptly upon accepting this offer. Your ability to secure the necessary clearance is essential for fulfilling key responsibilities of the role. Should you be unable to obtain it, SpaceX reserves the right to modify or terminate your employment to align with operational needs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
Level 1: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00
Level 2: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.

Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
