  SAIC is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Integration Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in verifying, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging software used to control and monitor Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs). Your work will involve both front-end and back-end service activities, in addition to supporting both development and operational environments. 

 

The position will require up to 10% of travel for on-site installation or field support activities.

 

This is an Hybrid/Remote role in San Diego, CA. Required to be local to area.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to debug, troubleshoot, and verify the software product's functional capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using Python and Selenium to ensure software integrity.
  • Design and develop simulation programs using Python to validate software performance and functionality.
  • Deploy and manage service containers using Docker on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) systems.
  • Automate processes and tooling using Bash scripting.
  • Create and maintain robust software documentation for installation, operations, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Participate in hands-on integration and testing, both remotely and on-site, to diagnose incidents and perform root cause analysis.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • AA Degree in related discipline and three (3) years related experience; Or, High School and five (5) years related experience with relavent certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience testing software or in related technical roles.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with the Agile development process.
    • Strong experience using Python for scripting and automation.
    • Working knowledge of Bash scripting.
    • Familiarity with Docker for container orchestration.
    • Experience in using automation tools such as Selenium for software testing.
    • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) systems and environments.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with messaging systems or concepts, such as publish/subscribe or DDS (Data Distribution Service).
  • Practical knowledge or experience with unmanned vehicles, including Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs)UCSMDEUMAA, or related robotics systems.
  • A strong track record in debugging and troubleshooting software issues.
  • Proven experience in providing field support, particularly in customer-facing environments.
  • The ability and willingness to work aboard vessels during testing or integration events.

 

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
