Description

The Storage IPv6 Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of storage systems within an IPv6-enabled network environment. This role involves ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of storage resources, as well as managing IPv6 configurations and addressing issues related to both storage systems and IPv6 networks.

Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the storage area network (SAN). Performs all maintenance, configuration and deployments to the SAN system. Provisions storage and monitors capacity. Provides daily support of the storage environment and backups. Works on storage related tasks such as volume creation, LUN provisioning and data migration.  

Qualifications

Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience or Certifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience providing storage solutions engineering support, to include storage management, administration and maintenance of storage systems (e.g., SAN, INAS) ensuring high availability/and performance.
  • Ability to monitor storage capacity, health, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.

Job Role Specific Requirements:

  • Storage System Configuration and Management: Setting up and configuring storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Implementing and managing backup solutions to ensure data is regularly backed up.
  • Storage Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of storage systems to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • IPv6 Configuration: Configure storage technologies to communicate over IPv6 in addition to IPv4.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and the ability to obtain a public trust.

Nice to have:

  • Strong knowledge of IPv6 networking, addressing, routing, subnetting, network design, and troubleshooting background.

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
