Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform project or site expediting activities. You will contact suppliers, interpret production schedules and progress reports, prepare critical items reports, provide early warning of delays or supplier deficiencies, monitor supplier quality, and assist with tracing missing material. Your initiative and corrective actions will help ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. #LI-NP1
 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs more complex expediting activities on a project, in a support office, or at a jobsite to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs 
  • Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment 
  • Interprets production schedules and progress reports to ensure they are realistic, that required activities occur on time, and that interface between activities is maintained 
  • Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly 
  • Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers 
  • Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates 
  • Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes (PO lifecycle, requisitions, supplier coordination)
  • Understanding of expediting practices including tracking production progress, following up on suppliers, and ensuring on-time delivery of materials and equipment
  • Familiarity with logistics and shipment coordination, including basic knowledge of delivery status and material tracking
  • Knowledge of material status reporting

  • Strong communication skills to interface with suppliers, buyers, logistics, and construction teams
  • Solid organizational and follow-up skills to manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously
  • Problem-solving mindset to identify delays and drive corrective actions
  • Ability to analyze supplier schedules and progress reports versus project requirements
  • Strong attention to detail in tracking data, documentation, and expediting activities
  • Ability to work with Excel and reporting tools to monitor and communicate status updates

KEY FACTORS:

  1. Prior experience in procurement, expediting, or supply chain
    • Ideally supporting material delivery, supplier follow-up, or logistics coordination
  2. Experience working with suppliers or vendors
    • Demonstrated ability to follow up on production, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery
  3. Familiarity with project environments (engineering/construction preferred)
    • Exposure to large-scale project execution or field operations is a strong advantage
