About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest Employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Major duties
Provide instructions from supervisor to workers tasks to be performed. Monitor work progress and checks for compliance with supervisor’s instructions. Maintain safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an WELDER LEADER without more than normal supervision. ???????I have the ability to perform common Welder Leader in accomplishing trades and craft work involving welding. Demonstrate proper work methods to meet deadlines. Perform welding in rebuilding and overhaul of equipment repair. I work under normal supervision of work leader or journey-level who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Metals Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments ?????????????? Physical Effort: Work involves standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and crawling. Occasionally work is performed in awkward and hard to reach places. Frequently lifts items weighing 20-50 pounds and occasionally items over 65 pounds. Working Conditions: Most of work is performed in shop buildings that are drafty and noisy. Occasionally performs work outside being exposed to weather extremes. Incumbent is exposed to dirt, grease, odors, smoke, fumes, heat, flying sparks, the glare of torches, and heated materials; possibility of eye injury, electrical shock, broken bones from falls off scaffolds/ladders, and the chance of cuts when working with sharp objects; and discomforts of wearing protective clothing, gloves, flash shield, respirator, etc.
