About the Position: Perform duties under the supervision of the Chief of Training, Office of the Commandant, Henry H. Lind NCO Academy, who provides guidelines regarding specific objectives to be achieved; and provides guidance regarding training issues. Provides advice and guidance in resolving unusual problems and on new and changed policies and procedures. Incumbent accomplishes functions independently.

Major duties

Reviews current training materials to ensure consistency with training policies and guidelines. Updates Training Support Packages (TSPs) with appropriate references and regulations, and the Course Management Plan (CMP). Collaborates with Army University and other subject matter experts to ensure course material addresses program and organizational requirements. Examines course materials to ensure the content supports the terminal and enabling learning objectives and activities for the subject matter. Develops questions for the end of course evaluation that measures the effectiveness of training. Listens effectively and facilitates discussion between students with opposing thoughts and clarifies information as needed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of NonCommissioned Officer Professional Development System Courses through my military education, training, methods and techniques of instruction, which includes preparing training objectives and lesson plans; administering tests in a controlled environment; developing course materials and aids; presenting training materials using the experiential learning model (ELM) in a classroom or lecture based environment; reviewing materials for correction and updating; monitoring training courses for effectiveness; and working knowledge of computers, software applications, ATIS/Distance Learning platforms in automated classrooms equipped to Enterprise Classroom Technology levels 1,2, and 3.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Education

EDUCATION: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in Education (i.e. secondary school, college, military installation) or a subject area related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
