About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Supply Technician within the Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River the medical treatment facility (MTF), with responsibility for performing a wide range of systematized supply operations for material, equipment, and publication to include maintaining records, inventory, storage, cataloging, micro-purchase acquisition procedures and receipt control processes.

Major duties

Responds to customer inquiries. Examines a variety of receipt documents (e.g., Purchase Card and Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) receipt documents. Ensures the documents support the actual receipt of supplies or services. Serves as the main point of contact for Prime Vendor (PV) program and liaison between the facility, PV, and DHA. Maintains purchase card files according to applicable regulations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Examining a variety of receipt documents, 2) Ensuring medical and surgical supply needs are fulfilled per contract, and 3) Responding to customer inquiries such as how to initiate a requisition, how to return items, or status of ordered items. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
