The mission of the 47th Medical Group at Laughlin Air Force Base is to support the 47th Flying Training Wing’s medical, dental and aeromedical needs in support of Laughlin’s Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training mission. The medical group is responsible for the health care of more than 3,400 Department of Defense (DoD) beneficiaries and ensuring the medical readiness mission for wartime and worldwide contingencies.

Job summary

About the Position: This position is under the Materiel Management Department under Naval Health Clinic located at Pearl Harbor side of Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, which is on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. A cost of living allowance has been authorized for Hawaii at the rate of 8.90% (subject to change).

Major duties

Manage department goals and objectives, implements new programs, and issues policy guidance. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Oversee the Command equipment budgeting and accountability program for other procurement, Defense Health Programs, and minor equipment including life cycle management. Maintain accurate property and transaction records for the medical stock record account in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system. Act as Agency Program Coordinator (APC) for the Government Purchase Card (GPC).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting in providing advice to customers on administration supply management functions (e.g., equipment inventory, storage, receiving, cataloging, Property accountability, supply financial reporting, issuing, shipping, etc.) to make sure supply policies, instructions, or procedures are being followed; 2) analyze organizational data to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of the operation; and 3) resolve complex problems in medical supply management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Information Technology Customer Support System Administration Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
