About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility on Patrick SFB, FL. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 35-40 per week. Position includes benefits such as: Health and Life Insurance, Retirement and 401K.

Major duties

Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Jan. 19, 2026, Jan. 29, 2026, and closing on Feb 9, 2026. Announcement will close once position is filled. Assists the Leisure and Recreation Program Manager in planning, developing, organizing, and supervising a comprehensive and complex outdoor recreation program for Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral AFB that includes instructional classes, self-directed activities, incentive programs and special events. Manages and executes the day-to-day operation of the equipment loan, rental and resale operations at multiple outlets. Designs and maintains the resale operation to enhance customer satisfaction, complement programs and equipment offered and increase participation. Serves as the ODR Program Manager in his/her absence. Provides management oversight of the Auto Hobby program that provides fleet maintenance to NAF vehicles and offers limited auto hobby support to external customers. Managers and ensures accurate accountability for a large equipment inventory. Serves as the alternate equipment custodian for accountable equipment. Exercises day-to-day supervision of the staff. Interviews and selects candidates for vacancies. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular performance feedback. Appraises performance and provides completed appraisals and recognition recommendations to the ODR Program Mangers. Identifies training requirements and implements a comprehensive OJT training program for staff to ensure they are proficient in the job skills and tasks. Monitors performance of contractors to ensure good customer service and compliance with contract terms. Performs weekly inspections of the facilities and equipment. Makes a written record of discrepancies and submits the required documentation to the appropriate office for correction. Performs facility manager and ground safety duties and ensures the development of a comprehensive facility maintenance program. Ensures a comprehensive equipment maintenance, repair and replacement plain is established and routine maintenance and repairs are performed in a timely manner IAW manufacturer's recommendations. Monitors the point of sale function and performs administrative duties including but not limited to NAF and APF purchasing systems, daily business systems and environmental management systems. Conducts customer surveys to assess effectiveness of ongoing activities. Assists the ODR program manager in budgeting and capital improvement planning. Monitors compliance with AF and DoD standards and recommends necessary corrective actions to the Leisure and Recreations Program Manager. Performs other duties as required. Qualifying Experience: Must have a minimum of two years specialized experience in a related field of a recreational rental/resale and programming. Must have knowledge of Non-Appropriated Fund budgeting and have short- and long-range capital improvement planning experience Must have skill in personnel management. Must possess competencies in core recreation program activities such as camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, Scuba, and other recreational water sports. Must have a current nationally recognized CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
