Major duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio is searching for a Supervisory Intelligence Specialist (GG-1132-14). Description: The 3rd Intelligence Analysis Squadron at the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate to oversee our USCENTCOM/USEUCOM/USAFRICOM Force Employment Flight. The position provides the full spectrum of mission oversight, administrative leadership, and human resources responsibilities for a team of around 10 civilians, military, and contractor personnel. This role includes providing advice and counsel to civilian, military, and contract employees regarding policies, procedures, and higher headquarters guidance. The Flight Director is expected to have experience with IC, DoW, and space intelligence enterprise efforts to assess adversary space/counterspace force employment and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for and defend NSIC's mission. This experience ideally includes contract management and budgeting. The Flight Director also selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. As a supervisor, conducts performance management for employees within the flight. This role is expected to lead a broad range of space and counterspace analysis entailing unique problems, creativity, innovative use of techniques, advance approaches, and new technology. The ideal candidate brings a comprehensive skill set grounded in extensive experience with NSIC, USSF/USAF, and OPM personnel policies, demonstrating a proven ability to build and mentor teams while managing DoW contracts. This leadership is enhanced by the ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a medium-sized organization, adeptly modifying standard practices to solve complex, interrelated problems. Their strategic value is underscored by a broad knowledge of agency, DAF, DoW, and national-level doctrine, which is critically applied through a sophisticated understanding of foreign space and counterspace systems and the intelligence cycle. This candidate excels in applying advanced analytical techniques to resolve complex issues and leverages mature judgment to establish effective relationships, negotiate complex issues, and resolve conflicts. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology of intelligence processes, techniques, sources and reporting mechanisms required for the production of intelligence assessments. 2. Knowledge of foreign space and counterspace systems, concepts and capabilities. 3. Knowledge of supervisory, safety, security, and budgetary regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Broad knowledge of agency, AF, DoW and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s). 5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, negotiating complex issues, and resolving conflicts based on mature judgement, experience, and recognized professional standing. 6. Ability to utilize analytical and problem-solving techniques to accomplish goals and direct staff of a small to medium sized organization.
