Job summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FOOD SERVICES SPECIALIST in the Galley (N925) of COMMANDER, NAVAL REGION JAPAN. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.

Major duties

You will assist with the coordination of the Menu Review Board; responsible for utilization of the Food Service Management (FSM) System; Responsible for oversight of the Basic Daily Food Allowance (BDFA) and matching rations to over/under issues. You will prepare and revise of cycle menus of food served in the Galley and publication of the menu. You will be s responsible for the oversight of the program, which includes developing and implementing training programs; participation and compliance with local safety programs; award recommendations; and all other actions related to the galley. You will provide oversight and resourcing for all galley operations in Japan Region. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements, and the individual employee’s capabilities. You will be accountable and control all food stocks, maintain instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for all Food Service Personnel, sanitation and orderliness of all food service spaces, preparation and service of food.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing oversight for all dining facility operations to include; accountability of all food stocks; financial management of the dining facility program; procedures for sanitation; preparation and service of food, maintenance of spaces and equipment, completion of all required reports and returns.
