You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER located within the Naval Support Activity Bahrain, Fire and Emergency Services Department (NSAB F&ESD), of NAVSUPPACT BAHRAIN.

Major duties

You will provide immediate oversite and direction of day-to-day operations for two fire stations. You will prepare a proportional amount of the annual budget for Fire Chief’s approval. You will coordinate with chiefs on other shifts and at other stations concerning matters of work accomplishment, training, priorities and procedures. You will provide recommendations to the Fire Chief for appointment, promotion, retention and reassignment of employees. You will prepare and approve reports for the Fire Chief concerning fire runs, training, maintenance, inspections or other topics.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Implementing training scenarios to evaluate firefighters and installation personnel during training exercises and readiness assessments. 2. Leading fire protection and emergency management operations to support an installation. 3. Assisting with budget formulation and management of the. organization. 4. Collaborating with other departments such as, Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, and Hazardous Waste Management to deliver occupational health hazard training. 5. Responding to safety incidents and performing functions as Incident Safety Officer. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The work schedule is an uncommon tour of duty This Position Description is not eligible for Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week). The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed. ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems. You will be required to sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the employer. LICENSES: It is required the incumbent have the following IFSAC or Pro Board certifications at the time of their appointment to this position: Firefighter I Firefighter II Driver/Operator - Pumper Fire Officer III Incident Safety Officer Fire Inspector II Fire Instructor II Hazardous Materials Technician Hazardous Materials Incident Commander Airport Firefighter FEMA ICS 300 and 400 A valid, current license as Emergency Medical Technician listed in a State or the National Registry (NREMT) to at least the EMT level It is preferred the incumbent have the following IFSAC or Pro Board certifications at the time of their appointment to this position: Driver/Operator - Aerial Driver/Operator - Mobile Water Supply Marine Firefighter Confined Space Rescue I/II Current Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certificate Health and Safety Officer
