You will serve as an Executive Director in the OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF INFORMATION (CHINFO), THE NAVY'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS HEADQUARTERS in Washington, DC.

Major duties

You will provide counsel on a wide range of issues related to communication strategy, planning, and performance improvement. You will be responsible for supervising a small team of senior civilians. You will be responsible for orchestrating and synchronizing DON-level public affairs and engagement programs. You will define and redefine the desired strategic outcomes for high-level and/or high-visibility public affairs or strategic engagement efforts. You will lead constructive and cooperative interaction to discern and gain agreement on appropriate and realistic courses of action. You will be working with others to communicate, execute, and evaluate the relative success of the agreed-upon course of action.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in and knowledge of public affairs. Experience in and having the ability to lead and advise executive-level leadership on public affairs or strategic communication programs. Experience in developing, coordinating, and evaluating enterprise-level communication strategies or policies. Experience providing functional oversight or guidance across public affairs disciplines such as media relations, strategic messaging, visual information, outreach, workforce development, or performance measurement.
