Job summary

You will serve as a SHIP PROGRESSMAN (GENERAL) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (Code 900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-12488131-24-LH. Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.

Major duties

You will perform production progress reviews, take lead in planning and scheduling production work/assignments, determine work assignments and take corrective action on production delays or anticipated delays. You will review assigned Task Group Instruction (TGI), job orders (JO)/JICs, plans and specifications and work and worker assignments. You will resolve any problems that may arise such as ambiguous aspects of the JO/JIC specifications and plans, unattainable completion dates, substitution of materials, additional manpower, etc. You will ensure plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available and that needed stock is obtained from supply department. You will assure there is enough work to keep everyone in work crew busy and check work in progress and when finished, check for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence procedures, methods, and deadlines. You will assure safety and housekeeping rules are followed and evaluate operations to ensure trades work is completed according to schedules and specifications. You will monitor work progress through visits to work sites and daily work progress reports.
