Major duties

You will serve as the principal advisor and representative to the Chief of Staff/Executive Director in all security matters. You will coordinate matters pertaining to Combat System and Combat System Elements Information Security, Personnel Security, Operational Security (OPSEC), Industrial Security, International Security, and Physical Security. You will provide compliance oversight in classification management, controlling and safeguarding classified information, inspections, security compliance, policy implementation, security education and training, You will provide expert advice/counsel to command personnel in all aspects of Personnel Security, Information Security, Operations Security, Insider Threat, and Physical Security. You will develop and ensure implementation of comprehensive controls to protect and provide accountability on all classified documents and media in the command’s custody. You will provide oversight of all security storage containers in accordance with existing instructions. You will conduct unannounced inspections during and after normal working hours to ensure compliance with security requirements. You will make written reports of deficiencies and recommends corrective actions as required. You will ensure that all visitors have the appropriate security clearance and need to know before access is granted to the facility.

Qualification

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical oversight to plan, manage, or coordinate security concepts (e.g. classification management, controlling and safeguarding classified information, inspections, security compliance, policy implementation, security education) for the compliance with a security program. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
