Job summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark, and Daleville.

Major duties

Alert appropriate officials of security violations. Conducts random inspections in accordance with force protection requirements. Provides authoritative guidance and information on security regulations and procedures in response to security inquiries. Question suspicious persons to warn or detain as appropriate. Exercise crowd control during events and/or demonstrations. Perform vehicle checks to ensure safe and secure access to the installation. Render first aid if warranted in an emergency.

Qualification

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work with federal, state, municipal, or private protective organizations safeguarding personnel, information and/or assets; recording visitor information and determine whether authorization for access exists; protecting property against hazards such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; OR maintaining order and protecting life. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. If using military experience to qualify, please ensure you detail this in your resume. This position is obligated to an employee who has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, return rights based on having served on an overseas tour(s), etc. In accordance with 5 CFR 353 or AR 690-300, Chapter 352, the previous incumbent has reemployment rights to this position. When an obligated position is filled, the selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that this position is obligated. Position may be filled as a Term appointment NTE 3 years. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond 6 six years, but not more than 8 years. **NOTE - A current Army employee with personal competitive status accepts a time-limited appointment (such as term or temporary appointment), the Army employee forfeits their permanent status and becomes subject to the provisions of the term or temporary appointment. **Permanent employees who accept time-limited appointments will not have placement rights to the previously held permanent position at the end of the time-limited appointment. Employees who accept such time-limited appointment opportunities will be required to sign a statement of understanding. Education

Evaluations
