About Army Installation Management Command

Job summary

Who May Apply? US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of Chievres AB, Belgium (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium. Non-US Nationals must have resided in the US or US Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. This position is located at the USAG Benelux, DFMWR, Chievres Fitness Center, Chievres AB, Belgium.

Major duties

Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery. Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness. Provides conditioning programs for Chievres Fitness Center facility users. Instructs proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness and flexibility. Assist in the planning markets and conducts an ongoing physical fitness program.

Qualification

Demonstrated work experience that enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program. Valid Fitness or Personal Trainer Certificate REQUIRED. Highly Desirable: Prior experience in a Military Fitness and/or Community center planning, organizing, or setting up recreational sports activities, family special events or fun runs in a fitness center or community recreation center. Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration Under DoD guidelines, SEP is lost once a spouse obtains or declines a regular or permanent Appropriated Fund (APF) or Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) position whether the preference was applied or not (this includes AAFES positions).
