Job summary

Come join our aquatic team, with your lifeguard certification and skills as well as your First Aid and CPR training you will ensure the safety off all dedicated military members, civilians and families as they enjoy the amenities of this indoor pool. APPLICATIONS WILL BE PULLED EVERY THURSDAY AT 8:00AM UNTIL POSITIONS ARE FILLED.

Major duties

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, tracks headcount(s), and enforces established pool/facility procedures. When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards, swimming equipment, and deck area inspected frequently for cracks, loose matting, debris or hazards and that necessary repairs and notification(s) are made. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include clearing of bath houses, main pools, pool decks, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualification

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification for the type of activity and skill levels they are instructing, e.g., swimming, aquatic exercise. Must have nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
