Job summary

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Buckley Outdoor Recreation Center. This is a Part Time position that is eligible for benefits such as Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401(k) and Retirement.

Major duties

Assists in planning and scheduling recreation programs and special events (i.e. camp-outs, info fairs) for the Outdoor Recreation Center. Issues rental equipment, checks equipment for damage and instructs patrons on the proper use of the equipment. Registers patrons for activities. Prepares skis for rental to include grinding, sharpening and waxing. Assists with maintenance, repair and cleaning of all recreation equipment. Enters data into POS system for rental and retail inventory, issuing and receiving. Receives payments and monitors the recreational vehicle storage lot, FamCamp and other recreation areas. Sells lift tickets, entertainment, amusement park and special event tickets, and all related inventory, following required cash handling procedures and accountability. Prepares daily cash reports and deposits money on a daily basis. Makes reservations for the FamCamp, picnic areas and all rental equipment. Displays stock and inventory items so that they are easily accessible. Sends out customer confirmations and notifications as needed. Performs duties as driver and/or assistant driver in conjunction with field trips, tours, or other designated activities. Position requires an uncommon tour of duty to include night, weekends, and holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have working experience or knowledge of the recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures as related to the particular activity in which they are assigned. Progressively responsible experience in clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other processing of cash items when this includes (I) direct handling of cash items and, (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Experience making reservations is required. Applicant must have good organizational skills. Applicant must have the ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and polices. A valid driver's license is required. Binding certification is preferred. Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical is required. Position is a Position of Trust. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check (NAC). Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. "This is a drug testing position. Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
