Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Power Plant Senior Electrician without more than normal supervision. This includes the ability to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs on electrical equipment at multi-purpose hydroelectric dams, hydroelectric power generating plants, spillways, intake structures, or switchyards; and conduct high-potential and/or Doble Testing on power plant generation and delivery equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability To Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work) Ability To Use Electrical Drawings Knowledge of Electrical Equipment Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Theory and Instruments (Electrical Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices Trouble shooting (electrical) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work tasks require that the incumbent be capable of rapid simultaneous mental and muscular coordination in conjunction with eye and hand coordination to operate switches and controls in accordance with meter indications. In order to perform the maintenance, inspection and operation of power station equipment the worker will lift and carry heavy objects 45 pounds and over, climb and reach above the shoulders, stand, sit, crawl and kneel for prolonged periods of time and perform repeated bending. Requires substantial and frequent climbing of stairs and ladders between floor levels of Power Plants for all duties. The incumbent must be able to utilize the plant communications system and to do so hearing and speech is necessary. In order that color codes be recognized it is necessary for the incumbent to have correctable vision and the ability to distinguish basic shades of colors. Operation of cranes, pickups and other motor vehicles is required. Incumbent will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and an annual physical.
