Job summary

Major duties

You will respond to emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service; respond to and conduct investigations relating to incidents aboard installations. You will perform motorized and walking patrols of installations; perform anti-terrorism/force protection duties to deter, detect, and/or deny unauthorized access. You will subdue and disarm persons doing violence to others on installations; assist and administer first aid to injured; gather and analyze facts; seize and protect evidence, take statements, make diagrams and conduct interviews. You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation; identify and admit traffic/personnel according to laws, force protection conditions and base regulations. You will inspect packages and personal belongings when admitting personnel into controlled areas. You will perform traffic law control and enforcement; set up and conduct checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations. You will detect and investigate situations/conditions; seize and protect evidence, take statements and advise violators of their rights. You will write technical descriptive documents/reports and perform other law enforcement duties assigned. You will perform anti-terrorism/force protection duties to deter, detect, and/or deny unauthorized access.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: maintaining order and protecting life and property: responding to emergency calls: complaints and other calls for service during the watch; subduing and disarming those who are doing violence to other persons; conducting investigative stops; gathering and analyzing facts; seizing and protecting evidence; interviewing witnesses and taking statements; conducting preliminary investigations; advising violators of rights; processing accident scene; determining whether facts warrant apprehension/detention or lesser action, and presenting evidence in court. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

No substitution of education or training may be made for the required specialized experience at the GS-06 level or above.
