Motor Vehicle Operator (Hazardous Material Disposer)

Job summary

You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (HAZARDOUS MATERIAL DISPOSER) in the Environmental Compliance Division, Environmental Affairs Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, NEW RIVER. Major duties

You will operate oil collection trucks and associated pumps, tanks, controls and safety devices, and forklifts. You will operate stationary and portable pumps and skimming equipment. You will operate metering and measuring devices and sampling and testing equipment. You will operate vehicles, including stake bed trucks, vacuum and tractor trailer trucks. You will perform weekly inspections on the used oil collection points. You will assist in the packaging, labeling, and maintenance of containers of waste stored in the facility. You will assist in maintain general housekeeping standards for the facility You will assist in containment and clean-up of hazardous substance spills.

Qualification

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION including responding to emergency spills; performing chemical testing; operating hazardous waste transport vehicles; and loading and securing hazardous waste for transport.
