You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PUGET SOUND.

Major duties

You will operate motor vehicles and operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in the day-to-day operations of loading, offloading, and staging of material from Government and commercial stores. You will load and unload trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivers material to sites by most expeditious route, observing all traffic laws and regulations. You will operate trucks up to 26,000-pound gross vehicle weight (GVW) on regularly established schedules and routes. You will be responsible for correct storage and location identification of all materials and equipment to prevent damage or loss. You will be required to stage hazardous material orders and offload material at customer stops.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks, as demonstrated though experience working under normal supervision, including transport material throughout public roads/highways for long or short hauls on routine basis; Use pre-operational inspection checklist to ensure fuel supply and other conditions; assist in receiving , storing, assembling for issue and delivery by motor vehicle of a variety of supplies, material and equipment; loads and unloads trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivers material to sites by the most expeditious route, observing all traffic laws and regulations; identify proper weight distribution requirements according to conveyance to prevent damage during transport; operate gasoline and/or electric forklifts. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
