About the Position: This position is in the Patient Administration division of the Directorate of Administration in Naval Hospital Guam, located in Hagåtña, Guam. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

Analyze medical records retrospectively for adherences to local, BUMED, and Joint Commission (JC) policies. Contact appropriate medical staff regarding questions on the completion of medical records. Promote records accountability and ensure all medical records are accounted for via the automated or manual record tracking system. Ascertain that all established clinical diagnoses are listed in order of clinical importance in relation to current period of hospitalization and that the terminology is in accordance with accepted nomenclature. Evaluate the order of diagnosis and ensures the assignment of correct coding is addressed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing medical records for accuracy, extracting medical data to fulfill further processes, and ensuring all medical documentation meets regulatory compliance and privacy standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
