About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Ramstein Lodging Facility, Ramstein AB, Germany. This position may offer logistical support. The purpose of this position is to receive, store, and issue a variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, and equipment. Additional purpose is to operate motor vehicles with gross vehicle weight of up to 15,000 pounds, no special license required, to transport supplies from multiple locations to Lodging facilities.
Major duties
As a working leader, performs the following duties: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress, production, adherence to quality and safety standards. Instructs and trains new employees. Elevates unresolved employee complaints or operational issues to supervisor. Provides input on performance, progress, and disciplinary problems. Reports all repair and maintenance requirements according to established policy. Reports all safety violations to immediate supervisor. Receives incoming shipments from off-loading areas and checks receiving vouchers to ensure quality and quantity of items received. Reports overages, shortages, or damaged conditions to supervisor. Selects storage locations and stores, stacks, and palletizes items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and possibility of contamination to or from other items. Conducts end-of-month inventories of stock by counting items in storage areas to include back up furnishings for renovations projects and bi-annual linen orders. Ensures that supplies and equipment are safeguarded and always secured. Prepares shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems. Responsible for offloading transport containers with consolidated shipments for the Squadron as well as Lodging assets ranging from guest room replacement furnishings to expendable supplies. Required to escort non-US ID cardholders onto military installations in the KMC, including drivers assigned to the Transportation Management Office, freight forwarding companies, and others. Has knowledge to take drivers to local Customs Office to process customs paperwork. Tasked to deliver major appliance replacements throughout the KMC (refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, etc.). Also replaces bed sets that are soiled by guests or containing bed bugs as well as case goods like dressers, nightstands, headboards, desks, etc. and soft goods to include sleeper sofas, lounge chairs, desk chairs, etc. Operates motor vehicles including pick-up trucks, carryalls, vans, sedans, and station wagons with gross vehicle weights up to 15,000 pounds. Carries cargo and passengers; hauls and or delivers supplies; loads, places, balances, and secures cargo; and unloads vehicles. Observes safety regulations in addition to posted traffic control and highway guide signs. Operates electric, gasoline, or diesel-powered forklifts up to 10K capacity. Also operates mechanized material handling equipment to include a furniture lift and carpet extraction machines with various attachments. Assists with periodic NAF furnishings sales throughout the KMC. Helps customers load vehicles with purchased assets and clears buildings prior to arrival of Project Manager (PM) and local trades. Also assists PM with various tasks during duration of renovation project. Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead 3 or more Material Handlers to accomplish assignments. Must have the ability to build teams and work with others. Must have experience in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing up to 15,000 pounds. Must have experience in and knowledge of a wide variety of warehouse plans, methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling. Must be able to operate mechanized equipment for storage and retrieval. Requires knowledge of basic hand and powered tools to assemble items such as highchairs, luggage carts, case goods, etc. Must be physically able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
