About Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency
Mission Statement The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) is a separate Agency of the Department of Defense (DoD) under the direction, authority, and control of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD (I&S). The mission of the DCSA is as follows: -Deliver efficient and effective background investigations, adjudications and continuous vetting to safeguard the integrity and trustworthiness of an agile federal and contractor workforce, and preserve military readiness and warfighting capabilities -Identify and neutralize foreign intelligence threats to the USG’s trusted workforce and critical technologies -Develop and articulate holistic threat picture of risk posed by foreign intelligence entities and hostile insiders, enabling the USG to strengthen our security posture, continuously protect against the evolving threat, and enable action agencies to more effectively counter adversaries -Contribute meaningful analysis to the Intelligence Community (IC)-Manage the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) on behalf of the Secretary of Defense by clearing industrial facilities, personnel, and associated IT systems -Identify and defeat threats presented to critical technologies and through the supply chain -Provide education, training, research, and security awareness to DoD, other federal government organizations, and industry -Execute enterprise management responsibilities for DoD Security and Insider Threat Programs.
Job summary
The incumbent serves as an Management Assistant (MA) in Federal Investigative Records Enterprise (FIRE) Automated Federal Leads Center (AFLC) located at Fort Meade, Md or Boyers, PA. The incumbent is responsible for administrative tasks to support a team of employees who conduct and report a variety of electronic record checks and a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the program.
Major duties
This announcement is open to All U.S. Citizens who reside or are currently employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; City of Alexandria, VA; Virginia counties of Arlington, Stafford, Prince William, and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties. OR who resides or are currently employed in the Pennsylvania counties of Butler, Clarion, Armstrong, Allegheny, Beaver, Lawrence, Mercer, Crawford, Erie, Venango, and Clarion; Ohio counties of Trumbull, and Mahoning; and all cities existing in Pennsylvania or Ohio within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties. As a Management Assistant you will be responsible for the following duties: Maintain records and compile reports for analysis Assist in organizing and coordinating workload for team on a daily basis Monitor and provide admin support to special projects and initiatives Compile materials and assist in the preparation of reports, manuals and publications Perform administrative tasks (e.g., filing, organizing/coordinating meetings and conferences, ordering office supplies, etc.) Use databases or spreadsheet software to prepare a variety of documents for supervisor Arrange meetings, including preparation of required material, coordinating logistics and taking and maintaining meeting notes

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-6) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Managing essential administrative activities to ensure smooth, effective, and efficient operations in an office environment. Responding to general inquiries and administrative issues ensuring that a timely and appropriate response is issued. Preparing and analyzing workload management reports to ensure case timeliness. Reviewing documents for timeliness, procedural correctness, completeness and responsiveness to requirements.
