About the Position: This position is with the 56th Artillery Command (AC) and United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Targeting Work Center (TWC) Manager with primary duties of managing the administrative requirements of the TWC, and the Target Mensuration only (TMO) unit level Evaluator for USAREUR-AF program.
Major duties
Assess the effectiveness of fires and operations (i.e., munitions effects assessment [MEA]), and review any battle damage assessment (BOA). Serve as the subject matter expert in the Joint Intermediate Target Development (JITD) and Advance Target Development (ATD) to provide technical and analytical advice to fires and targeting activities. Provide guidance and recommendations on procedures and processes used to integrate targets into operational planning in both United States European Command (USEUCOM) and United States African Command (USAFRICOM) targeting enterprises. Anticipate future requirements of the 56th Artillery Command (AC) Targeting Work Center (TWC) and integrates these needs into organizational design as needed. Apply the facets of targeting during Multi-domain Operations and other emerging operational concepts. Maintain proficiency in the Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT), National Production Workshop (NPW), Digital Imagery Exploitation Engine (DIEE) and Modernized Integrated Database.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing the administrative requirements, personnel, training, and target development workflow of the Targeting Work Center (TWC). 2) Acting as the key advisor on joint targeting, weaponeering, and collateral damage estimation, and representing the command in high-level committees and providing recommendations to improve targeting processes and policies. 3) Applying targeting principles, assessing battle damage, and maintaining proficiency with essential targeting systems such as Digital Imagery Exploitation Engine (DIEE), Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT), and Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB). AND 4) Providing immediate and continuing support for combat operations or to support maintenance and repair of combat essential systems of the armed forces. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
