It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.

Major duties

Coordinates with DoD and commercial contractors to obtain assistance in maintaining maintenance, reliability, and availability for all command information management systems. Provides accurate IT asset management and network inventory tracking functionality for OC hardware assets. Initiates, develops, recommends, and reviews policies and procedures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, agreements and policies. Commits and redirects command assets to satisfy urgent command requirements. Determines requirements, forecasts, distributes or redistributes materiel, procures authorization and performs additional required functions related to the managing of DISA-Net inventory.

Qualification

GS-09 Salary Range: $70,623 - $91,815 GS-11 Salary Range: $85,447 - $111,087 Specialized experience: For the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience assisting management on conducting inventory reviews; OR monitoring property assets for tracking purposes. For the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-09 if outside the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience assisting with Information Technology (IT) asset management; OR assisting with tracking property accountability; or utilizing an automated Property Management and Accounting system. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service to be considered for the GS-09 level. Applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service to be considered for the GS-11 level. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education

Education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement: For the GS-09 level: Completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree. For the GS-11 level: Completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
