Job summary
You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the ATLANTIC ORDNANCE COMMAND NMCLANT DET YORKTOWN VA.
Major duties
You will ensure proper documentation is released to the proper division in a timely manner meeting priority/required delivery date (RDD) windows. You will provide detailed technical advice and assistance in areas of special ordnance management to support the Fleet, Naval Ordnance Center Divisions, ACTs and other customers. You will originate and/or respond to correspondence to appropriate activities and maintain communication with ships and activities of all types. You will identify, report, verify and correct discrepancies on the station load plan, initiate disposition requests, monitor for action/no-action taken and update or take appropriate action as required. You will compile reports concerning space utilization, storage compatibility, space availability, magazine and conveyance data, security and statistics on inventory line items.
Qualification
To qualify for the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2010-9, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing material management by overseeing incoming requisitions, using automated systems and regulations in order to verify availability and issue ability of material Experience providing detailed technical advice and assistance in areas of specialized ordnance management Experience reviewing assets of age-sensitive material in order to classify material on automated records and schedule necessary physical changes with the appropriate Accountability Control Team Experience conducting space control while adhering to higher echelon security and safety regulations governing the movement, storage, and documentation of sensitive ammunition and components Experience conducting load planning in order to analyze stock levels to determine overages or shortages of station ammunition To qualify for the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2010-7, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing conventional and non-conventional ammunition and associated components and hardware to maintain accountability of assets. Experience in researching "non-coded" material, coordinates with the appropriate Accountability Control Team in obtaining all identifiable properties and characteristics to ascertain the applicable stock number. Experience receiving, reviewing and monitoring incoming requisitions and taking appropriate action to ensure completion. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: For the GS-07: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement For the GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
