This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Major duties
Conduct work site surveys to identify and evaluate environmental hazards and potential health hazards. Determine compliance with established threshold limit values (TLV), evaluating exposures, and advising on control measures and changes in work procedures or schedules to comply with established environmental and health requirements. Perform analysis using standard methods to determine nature and degree of toxic material present in a variety of materials such as environmental samples and industrial products Determine measurements to be made and methods to be used, calibrate and adapt various kinds of equipment, such as standard spectrophotometers, air sampling trains, and gas chromatographic apparatus. Instruct employees on proper selection, usage, and care of respirators in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience: 1) conducting work site surveys to identify and evaluate environmental hazards and potential health hazards; 2) performing analysis using standard methods to determine nature and degree of toxic material present in a variety of materials such as environmental samples and industrial products; 3) conducting surveys to evaluate existing potential health hazards and recommending solutions to problems. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
