Job summary

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the MANPOWER MANAGEMENT DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Major duties

You will process active duty administrative separations and retirements. You will process inactive reserve retirements and survivor benefits. You will assist in the administration and management of the Temporary Disability Retired List. (TDRL) You will compute and certify Statements of Service.

Qualification

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in the performance of military HR administrative and technical support functions relating to processing and management of separations and retirement. OR GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
