You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL/OA) in the Installation Personnel Admin Office (IPAC) of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Major duties
You will be responsible for requesting a logon ID for new users, deleting a DEERS logon ID, resetting a user’s password, updating the security privileges on a previously issued DEERS logon ID, and fingerprint and documentation overrides, as required. You will analyze applications to determine legal sufficiency and ensure required supporting documents (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth, and death certificates, court orders, etc.) are provided/attached. You will apply regulations to a wide variety of individual situations, makes final decisions on entitlement or limiting authorized privileges, and explains reasons. You will serve as liaison between Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) for hardware issues, the Service Project Office(s) for record corrections and policy clarification, TRICARE, legal and Military Police. You will ensure Privacy Act guidelines are followed and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is secured and maintained in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
Qualification
GS 05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following performing a variety of administrative type duties to include drafting and editing correspondence; preparing reports, forms, and documentation; and maintaining files. GS 04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Additional Information continued: PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.
Education
