Job summary
This position is within the Puerto Rico Community Schools, which are part of the DODEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District and is in accordance with the Fort Buchanan, School Schedule. Major duties
Serves as a food service provider helping in the preparation, presentation and the serving or delivery of light food items offered for sale to patrons. Receives guest orders, answers customer questions about offered food and drink items, records sales, receives cash/credit card payment, and provides the correct change. Serves light food items requiring little or no preparation time to patrons from a service cart at a beach side resort property location. Inspects and cleans counters, trays and outside tables. Washes utensils and maintains cleanliness of the work and display areas. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification
Qualification Requirements: Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to 1. Ability to work without more than normal supervision.2. Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.3. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.4. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.5. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.6. Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.7. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals in order to take orders and provide change; and determine the number of portions required. HIGHLY PREFERRED Are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and all of the following: Possess experience with Point of Sale (POS) or similar systems. Possess basic computer knowledge. Possess a year or more of customer service experience. Possess a ServSafe certificate or equivalent.
