Job summary
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Operations and Infrastructure Divisions of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Major duties
You will perform technical work in functions such as design, evaluation, construction, inspection, production, application, standardization, test, or operations of engineering facilities. You will develop programming documents and direct the preparation of plans and specification for new construction, alteration, maintenance and repairs of various base/installation facility projects. You will perform technical studies to determine the capabilities of existing facilities. You will analyze and evaluate work order requests for repair, maintenance and construction submitted by customers. You will make on-site visits to obtain information on facility/site conditions and location prior to initiating a contract project. You will monitor assigned facility projects from start to finish and serve as inspector and technical compliance representative to ensure adherence to code and satisfaction of project requirements. You will assist in the development of a business case analysis used to identify a proper course of action among a number of alternatives. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for the construction of complex facilities.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience overseeing facility projects with a primary focus on project management functions like scope development, cost estimation, and execution oversight, all grounded in a technical background of design, construction, and inspection.
