You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the C51 SYSTEMS DIVISION (CODE 290), ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT (CODE 200) of the NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Major duties

You will be responsible for providing technical and engineering services in the performance, operation, maintenance, Depot Level repair and modernization. You will develop detailed schedules and cost estimates identifying required man-hours and material necessary to support repairs and/or modernization. You will identify, analyze, and document deficiencies necessary to develop comprehensive repair plans in support of depot level work packages and ships systems lifecycle programs. You will analyze overall systems readiness and ascertains material/operational condition of the system, investigate and analyze causes for system failures. You will ensure complete combat readiness of Navy ships deployed, and ships home ported. You will be responsible for system testing/certification of shipboard High Frequency (HF) transmitter and antenna systems, specifically High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), URT-23 HF Transmitters, AN/SRA-56/57/58 HF Transmitter Multi-couplers.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing technical and engineering services in the performance, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement, and system testing and certification for shipboard High Frequency (HF) Transmitter and Antenna Systems, specifically High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), URT-23 HF Transmitters, AN/SRA-56/57/58 HF Transmitter Multi-Couplers, and analyzing causes for system failures. Additional Information Continued This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
