About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Bowling Center, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain bowling facility equipment. Scheduled shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical to include annual audio test.

Major duties

Assists in performing minor maintenance on bowling equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic ball cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines. May assist with the cleaning and maintenance of bowling lanes, approaches, channels, pindecks, kickbacks, scoring tables and ball returns. Assists with maintenance of inventory records pertaining to bowling facility supplies, equipment and parts. Performs other related work as assigned. Qualification

Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience or training which provided a basic knowledge of minor mechanical and electrical systems and a general understanding of maintenance and repair work. Knowledge of bowling equipment maintenance and repair is desirable. Must satisfactory complete a pre-employment physical to include annual audio test. Must satisfactory complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your suitability and fitness for the position.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
