About the Position: This position is located at the 49TH Medical Group, Holloman Force Base, New Mexico. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive maybe authorized. Advanced in-hire maybe considered for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Major duties

Serve as a behavioral health case manager on a multidisciplinary team, specializing in identifying high-risk and high-cost diagnoses. Facilitate patient success through direct intervention and advocacy. Observe patient behavior and response to treatment and adjusting levels of care in consultation with the broader healthcare team to ensure all diagnosed conditions are addressed. Coordinate care between treating facilities, command, and medical teams (within DHA guidance), as well as integrating family support and personalized safety plans Coordinates the weekly At-Risk/Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Planning (ARCT/MDTP) meeting. Provide direct training, counseling, and clinical assistance to a wide range of personnel Serve as a liaison for the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) with local, state, and federal agencies

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Behavioral Health Case Management: Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments or interviews; coordinating behavioral health care plan with multidisciplinary team; and evaluating appropriateness, quality, or cost effectiveness of care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
