Major duties
Serves as a working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing bartender work. The highest level of non-supervisory work led is Bartender NA-7405-04. Follows established procedures in operating a small full service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Ensures there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy. Works with other bartenders, setting the pace. Assist customers by discussing customers by discussing beverages available, their content and mixing special drinks according to customer direction. Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures. Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor. Uses tack and courtesy to deny further sales to person. Skill in mixing drinks Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change. Ability to recognize intoxicated and unruly patrons and take necessary remedial action Skill in recognizing impending shortages of inventory. Ability to train and guide other employees. Good customer related skills Work is performed without close supervision. Responsible for overall operation of the bar. Accountable for receipts and inventory.
Qualification
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualification requirements must include experience performing duties equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level. Possess math skills necessary to calculate bills and take inventory. Must be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. Candidates must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages is required Must have the ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff Work experience as a full-service bartender.
