This position is located at HMR Physical Fitness Center (Helemano Military Reservation) - Wahiawa, HI. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Major duties

Serves as Fitness Facility Coordinator and assists in the daily operations/functions required to manage a fitness facility up to 64,798 SQ FT. Works under the direction of the Facility Manager. Assists the Fitness Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Leads and or supervises the operation during second shift of program operations and in the absence of the Fitness Manager. Assists in the publicizing sports facilities, programs and events by drafting articles for local newspapers and as instructed by supervisor coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Performs full range supervisory duties.

Qualification

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Minimum Qualifications: 1. Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to carry-out a Sports Program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports, AND, 2. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. In addition to the above qualifications, Highly Desirable : 3. Posses a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) 4. Posses of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification *Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualifications criteria above. Highly Qualified Criteria 1. Must have worked in a fitness center or gym for a minimum of 6 months in the past 4 years. 2. Demonstrated experience with lead/supervisory duties. To be considered Highly Qualified you must meet all Minimum Qualifications and all Highly Qualified Criteria* NOTE: Applicants who meet both minimum qualification criteria and highly qualified criteria will be referred to the selecting official for first consideration

Education

If using education to qualify for this position, all Professional Certificates and/or College and/or University Transcripts must be uploaded and provided at the time of the application package to receive consideration. Degrees in the area of study of Physical Education or Kinesiology is highly preferred.
